This past week's concert at the Hylton Performing Arts Center with Manassas Symphony Orchestra was outstanding! The best part was involving the kids from Westgate and Mullen Elementary Schools right here in Manassas. It's great seeing the community involved :)

Huge thanks to Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) and Yoheved Kaplinsky of the Julliard School of Music for this past week's lecture on technique!
It's great when a speaker grabs your attention from the start and easily holds it for over an hour and a half. I could have gone longer!

NSO's Young Soloists' Competition High School Division Finals at the Kennedy Center tonight were awesome! The kids were playing some very difficult music quite well. I had the pleasure of hearing a harp, cellos, violins, and of course my favorite, pianos! Loved the Barber Concerto and Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto! Just amazing the work that had to be put into those performances. Kudos!
